Changing church

Updated: Mar 21, 2020

The Covid-19 outbreak has curtailed social gatherings all around the world from churches to sports events. Without the ability to meet in person, we are left wondering what church will look like for the next few weeks or even months. Distancing and isolation are not words that any of us would like to see used in reference to Shoreline, but it would be foolish to ignore the medical advice.

That means that for the time being our church needs to go online, on-telephone, by-letter or any safe means necessary to keep our community together and ensure the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of everyone involved.

There is already a Facebook online group, where we can share anything church related - prayers, talks, thoughts, concerns, requests for help, songs, etc. If you want to join please email kevinstares@hotmail.co.uk. Julie is planning a live 'thought for the day' (aka children's talk) at 10:30am on Sunday and I will be posting a talk during the morning.

In addition, this website has some new additions - namely this blog and the Online Church page, which we will update on a weekly basis with videos and audio-recordings and perhaps a few additional thoughts for you to read. The aim is to make sure that we are all listening, watching, reading and talking about the same 'virtual' service, with as much original content as possible.

There is a prayer request form on the Online Church page. Please use it to keep in contact, or to ask for prayer. We don't want anyone to feel alone, forgotten or isolated.

God bless, and we hope to see you, or speak to you soon.
