Sunday Service - 16th August 2020

In John 17, Jesus prays for all believers...

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

I pray that as a church we continue to make the love of our Righteous Father known to others, that we may grow in that love and remain in our Father's care. Amen.

Talk - Greatest Sermon You've Ever Heard!

Hi Everyone,

Today we are going to listen to what is arguably the greatest sermon you will ever hear. I can sense you thinking to yourself - well that maybe a matter of opinion! We all have our favourite bible preachers and we probably all remember some great talks that we have heard over the years.

In church we often have a short bible reading and then a longer talk giving a view or opinion on expounding that passage of scripture. There is nothing wrong with that as the bible encourages those with a 'teaching' ministry to exercise that gift. Today John Ortberg does things slightly differently. Take a listen and see what you think!

Today's bible reading is Matthew Chapter 5-7.

Worship

Continuing the theme of saying it simply, I will leave the invitation to worship to our first song...

All who are thirsty, all who are weak, come to the fountain, dip your heart in the stream of life.
